The official event will now go into a 2 month holding period. We will keep you informed via our facebook page.
Rest Bay wasn’t an option for the official event as the wave is not deemed suitable to hold up to 200 people.
Mother nature is fickle at the best of times, especially so when it comes down to providing us with suitable waves. However the later we go into the Autumn months the better the chances of tropical storms off America, resulting in lows in the Atlantic and surf on the Welsh beaches.
There will be an attempt to beat a surfing world record. WATCH THIS SPACE ! The current record for the most people surfing a wave at the same time stands at 120 and is held by south Africa. We want to fetch the record to Wales.
Sponsored and organised by the local surf companies
You do not have to be a pro surfer to take part , in fact you don’t have to be able to surf at all as full surf training will be available in the lead up to the event. The attempt will take place at Coney Beach or Rest Bay Porthcawl we are not looking at riding a big wave in fact all surfers will be in their own depth of water.
